Tips and tricks how to get a Free iPod!
My Own Tips
- Create a "disposable" email account to use. Then, if you cancel, you can close the email account and not be pestered with further solicitations. However, it is rumored that free emails such as Hotmail and Yahoo will not work, so we suggest you use another free service, such as seeqmail.com. (Here is a list of free Email providers) Also, check the spam/junk filter as the invites and verification emails etc. will most likely end up there.
- Even if not your current browser, you are best off using Internet Explorer when signing up and allowing popups on the site, because certain notifications while registering are made via popup window. You can always disable popups again, clear your cache and delete all cookies once you have your free item safely in your hands!
- When you signup for the required one offer you must enter a credit card number. If you then neglect to cancel after the free trial, you will get charged the monthly or yearly membership. That’s the kicker on most if not all the "free" offers. You therefore HAVE to remember to cancel or you’re going to get charged.
- If you do not wish to share your regular credit card number, there are other options available. Some banks offer charged cards that have a certain amount of money on them. Also, PrivaCash.com is another great option. Basically a it's a prepaid virtual credit card. You can use it like you would do with any other credit card. PayPal also has a virtual MasterCard available to some customers.
- Read the fine print of the offer you're signing up for. Sometimes they require you to cancel a certain number of weeks before the free trial runs out, otherwise you'll get charged for the next month.
- Make sure you don't break the rules! If you break a rule, you can kiss all of your completed offers/referrals goodbye. Violations which will cancel your account include:
- Having more than one account per household;
- Negative feedback from one their affiliates;
- Offers being completed and immediately canceled. It's therefore important to WAIT until you are allowed to cancel (the period differs from offer to offer) and if you don't like the offer then cancel it. By cancelling the offer right away, your account may be earmarked as fraudulent and canceled;
- Posting your referral link in places where it is not welcome, or spamming your referral link online in any capacity;
- No matter how many referrals you have in an account, you can only get 1 free item from it. But you are allowed to have account at each free offer site: one for a free iPod, one for free iPod accessories, one for a free mac mini, and so on. The referrals are non-transferable between sites or to other people, so once you get your needed referrals, all extra referrals are worthless.
- What do I need to get one of these free iPod or any other free items? In general, you need to be 18, have a valid U.S. shipping address (not a P.O. Box) and a credit card. Some offers are now also valid in the UK, Canada and Germany.
- Remember, you usually only have to do 1 offer. But the number of required referrals differ depending on the free item in question.
- Don't use the same computer (IP address) for multiple referrals. That may get you banned. Ask your friends to use their own computers instead. For the same reason, don't sign up at public internet spots such as libraries, schools, etc.
- Don't get impatient if you qualified, but it takes along time for your free item to arrive. These guys appear to be victims of their own success - they're presently swamped with applicants who qualified. And shipping delays are apparently also caused by Apple's problem with manufacturing enough iPods to satisfy demand. It may take a little longer, but you WILL get your freebie, trust me.
